Forgotten birthday....

I was going through some pictures and realized that I completely forgot to blog  about my little guy's 4th birthday!  All the time spent on that cake deserves some spotlight!!!

So here we go.....
He likes Chuck the Dumptruck!!!

Chuck, Handy, and Boomer!!!

See his face?
He is in love with his cake!

And he loves his new Chuck movie!!

See this girl?
The one in the blue....
yeah ..he's in love with her too!!
He calls her *Dean*
Her real name is Justine - {but he couldn't say that when he was 2!}

They were having a sword fight with their cousin!!

This birthday was a blast!!

Happy Birthday My Buddy!!

Is this the little girl?

What happened to my baby?

Because it seems to me that when I tucked her in to bed last night she was still little....

And when she woke up this morning she had turned into this beautiful young woman.......

5!!!

.......The number of people in our household.

.......The number of bedrooms in our home.

.......The number of hours it took me today to clean said home.

.......The number of daycare *littles* that were "helping" me clean said home.

.......The number of times I read the youngest littles favorite cow book.

.......The number of hours until I get a much needed date night with hubs.

FIVE!!!

.......The number of years today that I have been married to my bestfriend!

The weather was cloudy all day...until half way through our vows!  Then the heavens opened up and watered the mums!

My cousin Kim on my right , My best friend Lisa to  my left, and my SIL to the left of Lisa.  My daughter Kaitie in front {she was 9}

Our colors were periwinkle and silver!  I made EVERYTHING!  The flowers, the invetations, the centerpieces, the bulletins, and I even wrote and sang a song for my soon to be husband!

We've had our ups and downs. We've shared some pretty stressful situations, we've shed some tears together, we've laughed until we pee'd {ok me - maybe not him so much} We've never gone to bed angry with each other. Most of all we have loved each other every day of those 5 years!

Happy Anniversary Ron! I love you!

14!!!!!! ALREADY???

On the 19th my gorgeous, talented, smart, funny, loving baby girl turned 14!  I am sitting here wondering where the time went?!  When did barbies turn into ipods?  When did Barney turn into Justin Beiber?  She dances to Justin Beiber like she did to Barney (with a little bit more coordination!)

When I asked her what kind of cake she wanted she told me butter pecan!  (shocked it wasn't chocolate!)  Then she said she wanted turtles, soccer, music, and anything to do with summer!!  Now how was I going to get all that into 1 cake? The only way I could see getting all of her wishes onto cake was to make 2!!!  Good thing we were having 2 seperate gatherings!  One set of grandparents on Sat. and the other set on Sun.

The Saturday cake was the summer theme!  Sunglasses, orange bikini (which is what she wanted but couldn't find!)flip flops, purple nail polish, swimming pool, music and a guitar!

I started out making this cake using hot pink frosting on the larger bottom cake - I had it all the way frosted - then tasted the frosting - OOPPPPSSS!!!  Note to self - taste frosting BEFORE covering an entire cake with it - This pink frosting was horribly BITTER!!!  I had to scrap it all off - and start the process all over again!  This time I just used white!

**********************************************************************************

The Sunday cake was the soccer/ turtle cake - this one was much easier to make!  I rolled my modeling chocolate into little marbles and alternated them around the top and bottom.  I placed 4 soccer balls made out of modeling chocolate as well around the bottom.  I placed the turtle on top and wrote my message using melted white chocolate with edible blue sparkle dust mixed in.  (Kaitie said it looked kinda like toothpaste!)

If you read the message on the first cake  - you will notice that I forgot to cross my *T* - oopppsss

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAITIE!!!!
LOVE YOU!!

COLORS!!

sorry for the poor quality in the photo - I had the digital zoom on!
I haven't had this much color at one time in our yard EVER!  I find it so calming to sit and watch out the window some of God's tiniest creatures.  Here are a few pictures of the lovely colorful birds that I have had the pleasure to watch between yesterday and today!

I actually had 3 indigo blue buntings but one flew as I snapped the picture!

this one was taken through a cloudy window - every time i had the window open he would fly away too soon!

we have the mama cardinal as well - but she must have been hiding!

We also have a handful of gold finches but they weren't anywhere to be found when I had the camera out!

This is also the first year in many that I have had any luck with my tulips growing!  Usually I am lucky if I get 4 of them to grow!  This year I have 15!!!!!!!!!!  Here are a few shots of those beautys as well!!!

Blue sky, my white rocking chair on the porch, birds and flowers......I am at peace!
